Utilization of Chicken Eggshell Waste: A Potential Calcium Source for Incorporation into Vegetable Soup Mix

Calcium, an important mineral in bones, is widely available the form of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) eggshells. However, tonnes eggshells have been wasted every year all around globe. The current work was aimed at valorizing eggshell waste and incorporating it as alternative Ca source for deficient people. Soup mixes (named 1-5) were formulated by varying ratio starch (4-12 g) vegetables (2-10 along with constant quantity mushroom powder. soup mix assessed physiochemical properties proximate analysis. results showed that 4 g vegetables, 10 corn starch, 1 onion, garlic, 2 salt sugar, mushroom, powder found similar to commercial 3069.095 mg/kg content which meets individuals' RDA requirement. suggest can act a proper preload individuals used supplement foods. Further research required increase soup's acceptability, its bioavailability, shelf stability.
